BIRMINGHAM AND MIDLANDS ASSOCIATION
I The second annual report of the Birmingham and Midland Counties' Association shows a successful year, with an average monthly attendance of over 40, with fully taxed rooms on special occasions. A credit balance of £8,14s 8d is shown. There are now 71 members. Touch was being maintained with sister institutions overseas and with kindred associations in Wellington, where successful functions were held in the celebration of St. George's and Empire Days. An extension of the County Association movement is hoped for. Prominent visitors from the Home districts during the year included Mr. C. C. Goodway (English cricketer). Colonel G. S. Tomkinson, M.C., 0.8. E., and Mr. L C Tipper, Birmingham unofficial ambassador. Regret was recorded at the deaths of Mr. Tipper and Mr. F. W Manton, of Wellington.
