COLONIAL POLICY

POSSIBLE ALTERATIONS

COMPREHENSIVE OVERHAUL

(British Official Wireless.)

RUGBY, June 12

The Prime Minister, - Mr. Chamberlain, in answer to a question in the House of Commons today, stated that the Colonial Secretary, Mr. Malcolm Mac Donald, had been engaged for some time on a comprehensive examination of the whole machinery for framing and carrying out Britain's colonial policy in order to determine what alterations were necessary.

The possibility of bringing Parliament into closer and more regular, contact with the affairs of the colonies, said the Premier, had not been lost sight of, but he was not in a position to make a statement about it until the Government completed its consideration of the problem as a whole.
