Wellington Recital Tonight,
A programme of wide appeal has been arranged for the" first N6w Zealand appearance of Madame Lotte Lehmann in the Opera House, Wellington, tonight. There will be two operatic arias, one from "Mignon" (Thomas) and the other from "La Tosca" (Puccini). The programme will open with Brahms's "Love Is Forever," followed by Schubert's Serenade; then, "I Will Not Grieve' (Schumann) and "Fair Cheeks, Ye Ensnare Me" (Brahms). The second group will begin with "The Joys of Love" (Martini), then two old English songs, "My Lovely Celia and "The Plague of Love." The final number on this bracket will be Purcell's "There's Not a Swain on the Plain. The arias from "Mignon" and "La Tosca" will follow, and the final group will include "Music I Heard From You" (Hageman), "Covent Garden" (James), "The Star" (Rogers), and "Midsummer" (Amy Worth). Supplementary numbers will be selected from "Impatience" (Schubert), -'The Erl King" (Schubert), "Dedication" (Schumann), "Drink To Me Only With Thine Eyes." and "The Last Rose of Summer." ......
