AGREEMENT WITH CHIEF
JUSTICE
Entire agreement with the recent pronouncement of the Chief Justice (Sir Micheal Myers) that he intended to fix a longer period than had been ,usual within which orders for the restitution of conjugal rights could be complied with was expressed in the Supreme Court today by Mr. Justice Reed, who, in granting orders for restitution, fixed the time for compliance at one month, three months, or lour months, according to the circumstances of the cases. In one case in which an order for restitution of conjugal rights was made his Honour commented on the fact that the parties had been married only last August.
Orders for the restitution of conjugal rights were made in favour of Gilbert Lionel Butler (Mr. R. Hardie Boys) against Marie Josephine Butler, of Valeric Edna Frances Wilson (Mr. J. D. Willis) against Raymond Wilson, of Alexander Sloan Jaggers (Mr. H. Taylor) against Ima Doris Jaggers, of Eunice Ecid McKavanagh (Mr. J. Stewart) against Eric Thomas McKavanagh.
A decree for judicial separation was made in favour of Emma Ward (Mr. Hardie Boys) against Thomas Charles George Ward.
Decrees nisi on the grounds stated were granted in the following undefended petitions for divorce:—
Lily Craig (Mr. D. Foster) v. William Craig, separation; John Ashton Shax-ples (Mr. R. E. Gillon) v. Doreen Evlyn Sharpies, desertion; Elizabeth Crawford Blair (Mr. Hardie Boys) v. James Blair, incestuous adultery; Ethel Dick (Mr. Hardie Boys) v. James Samuel Dick, desertion; Gertrude Ada Pollock (Mr. Hardie Boys) v. George Douglas Pollock, separation; Harry Allan (Mr. Hardie Boys) v. Eileen Allan, separation; William George Browne (Mr. E. G. Webb) v. Amelia Evan Browne, separation; Gwendoline Sunday Grace Austin (Mr. P. H. Putnam) v. Allen Raymond Austin, separation; Queenie Averi (Mr. Hardie Boys) v. Antonio Fredus Averi, adultery; Oswald Davies (Mr. W. P. Rollings) v. Harriett Joyce Davies, adultery; Vera Annie Constance Kestle (Mr. A. B. Sievwright) v. William Kestle. separation; Frank William Perrott (Mr. A. M.' Hollings) v. Evelyn May Perrott, non-compliance with an order for the restitution of conjugal rights.
