An interesting sidelight on the size of Greek families is the fact that a number of members of the crew of the Greek tramp steamer Mari' Chandris, now in Auckland, belong to families of ten or more, states the Auckland "Star." The purser of the vessel claims eleven brothers and sisters, and has a photograph to prove it. One of the senior officers has six brothers and several sisters, and other instances:of a similar kind are fairly numerous. Although their; command of English is limited, the officers and other members of the crew are able to make themselves understood, and they express courtesy and have pleasant manners. They have the light olive Complexion of their country and the traditional Greek profile. , ,
