Madame Lotte Lehmann, the noted soprano, who arrived in Wellington by .the Wanganella this morning, is staying at the Hotel Waterloo.
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Grigg, Longbeach, Canterbury, will move next week into their new home, which has replaced the family homestead that was • destroyed by fire several months ago.
Mrs. Mark A. Toomey, of "Belvedere," Austin , Street, returned by the Wanganella this morning. Mrs.*Toomey has been spending a holiday in Sydney and the Blue Mountains with her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Bilbe.
Miss Joan Whitcombe, Park Terrace, Christchurch, . who has been visiting England and Europe, is returning, to New Zealand by the Tamaroa, due in Welffhgton on June 15. Her mother, Mi*f. B. E. H. Whitcombe, will be in Wellington to meet her.
• Mr.' and Mrs. S. Jacobs, Timaru, are Spending a holiday in-the.North Island, and will meet their daughters, the Misses Elsie and Betty Jacobs, on their return from Sydney next week.
Mr and Mrs. A. S. Tonkin, Napier, have arrived in Wellington and will reside here in future.
Miss Diane Carr, Timaru, is spending a holiday in Wellington. Miss Jean Lennie, who was the guest of Mrs. B. H. Bullock, New Plymouth, has returned to Wellington. Mrs H. Y. Cameron, Remuera Road, who has been visiting her mother and friends in Wellington, has returned to Auckland. Mr and Mrs. Cecil R. Johnston, Moxham. Avenue, Hataitai, will leave by the Wanganella on Thursday foi a two months' holiday in Australia. Miss lElsbeth McArthur, Wellington, is vSiting her aunt, Mrs. P. V. Graves, Waverley. Miss Beth Chamberlain, Hastings, and Miss Elsie ChambeHain, Wellington, are spending a holiday with then parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. Chamberlain, Masterton. Mrs R C. White, Havelock North, and Mrs.' W.
