DECISIVE WIN

HAWKE'S BAY'S FINE DISPLAY

(By Telegraph-

Press Association.)

HASTINGS, June 5. Completely overwhelming the opposition Hawke's Bay beat Wairarapa by 25 points to nil in the first senior representative Rugby match of the season, which was played at McLean Park, Napier, today. The Bay team gave a flawless display, and showed undoubted superiority in the forward and back divisions. The Wairarapa defences were slashed open by brilliant work by Fox and Reid. The visitors endeavoured gallantly but vainly to stem the tide At only one stage did Wairarapa look like scoring, but the effort failed when the player was caught in possession. The final score was a fair indication of the run of play.
