STORY ACCEPTED
A CHARGE OF CONNIVANCE

NEW PLYMOUTH, May 19,
Conniving at the desertion of two seamen from the Greek ship Adelfoi Chandris at New Plymouth was ihe charge made against a compatriot, Costa Candiloitis, in the Magistrate's Court today. Two seamen, Nicolaos Serassis and Christos Bourekas, left the ship on Monday and had since failed to returned, and warrants had been issued for their arrest.
The story told by Candiloitis was that he took the missing men by car to Palmerston North to see a Greek friend and that when he was ready to return he could not find them. This was accepted by. the Magistrate, Mr. W. H; Woodward, and the charge was dismissed.
