LUGGER WRECKED
PRIVATIONS OF FOUR MEN
(Received May 15, 1 p.m.)
DARWIN, This Day.
A message brought by a fisherman states that four men whose lugger was wrecked a fortnight ago on Horseshoe Reef, about 50 miles south-west of Darwin, are now at Point Charles suffering seriously from the privations they endured. One was blinded by sandy blight.
From the meagre details available, it appears that the men were sailing a lugger from Broome to Darwin when it was wrecked. The men lost all their provisions, and made their way to Grose Island. They eventually staggered into a farm near Point Charles.
