PRISONER ESCAPES

DUNEDIN, .May" 14,
Thomas John Henry Foote, a trusted prisoner, walked out of the yard at the Central Police Station about 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
Foote was engaged at the time on cleaning-up duties, and his gaoler left him for a few minutes. When he returned Foote had gone. The escaped man was sentenced to five months' imprisonment on: Friday on'charges of theft. ■
