READY TO SHOOT
SPANISH AIR FORCE
SPEECH BY FRANCO
(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.)
(Received May 13, 10 a.m.)
MADRID, May 12.
General Franco, farewelling 10,000 Italian and German pilots, mechanics, and anti-aircraft workers at Barajas aerodrome, said:
"Spain's air force has drawn its bow and is ready to shoot. It is impossible for Spain simply to enter a period of peace. The air force must always be ready to lender first service. The war in which you have assisted has given us faith and confidence in our mastery of ourselves, and in our unity and sacred brotherhood."
