fog, however, did not interfere with the ship's normal routine. The fog lifted at 10.45 a.m. today and the Empress of Australia proceeded at full speed, but later the visibility became patchy and the liner covered 18 sea miles in three hours. The Queen, wearing a yellow woolly coat and fawn felt hat, visited the ship's shop and bought sailor dolls for th Princesses. Afterwards she walked the deck with the King, who was smoking a pipe. Their Majesties attended the ship's cinema after dinner. At midnight, ship's time, the Empress of Australia was 360 miles south-east of Cape Race, Newfoundland.
CORONATION ANNIVERSARY

LONDON, May 12.
The second anniversary of the coronation of their Majesties was celebrated aboard the Empress of Australia. The attendant cruisers manned ship and fired a salute of twenty-one guns, and the King ordered the main brace, to be spliced.

RUGBY, May 11.
One of the first important public engagements to be fulfilled by the King after his return from Canada will be to attend a parade of National Service units in Hyde Park on July 2, when his Majesty will take the salute. In addition, representatives of the fighting services, the auxiliary forces, the civil nursing reserves, and other civil defence organisations will be represented.
