A SPECTACULAR BALL

MEDICAL CORPS ENTERTAIN

The annual ball of the Second Field Ambulance, New Zealand Medical Corps, was held last night at the St. Francis Hall, and a vividly colourful scene was presented by the regimental and air force uniforms of the men and the beautiful-frocks of the ladies.-The ballroom was hung with regimental and signalling flags, and, radiating from a centre coloured lantern, were streamers of the regimental colours, maroon, blue, and gold. Palms, ornamental shrubs, and hydrangeas were massed on the stage and stairs, also in the comfortably furnished lounge upstairs. •

The guests were received by the Commanding Officer,*. LieutenantColonel Montgomery Spencer, E.D., N.Z.M.C, and Mrs. Montgomery Spencer, who was wearing a golden bronze shot taffeta gown.

On the supper tables were tall vases and baskets of red roses and ferns, and seated at the official table with Lieu-tenant-Colonel and Mrs. Spencer were the Director of Medical Services, Colonel F.
