Mr. R. H. Nimmo, general manager of H. Nimmo and Sons, Ltd., has left for Rotorua, where he will enter hospital to undergo a month's treatment.
The Rt. Rev. H. St. Barbe Holland, Bishop of Wellington, returned last night from Marton, where he attended the school for Anglican clergy held' there this week. The sailing date of the Akaroa, on which ship Bishop Holland, accompanied by Mrs. Holland and Miss K. B. Robson, is to leave from Auckland on a health trip to England, has been postponed from May 19 to May 24. ■. His -Lordship, proposes leaving Wellington, for Auckland on the evening of May 22. ; "
Mr; E. T. Spidy,- superintendent of the.New Zealand Railway Workshops, left for Sydney by the Wanganella this week. ■-..-.
Mr. A. W. Croskery, secretary of the New. Zealand . Shop Assistants' Federation, will leave Wellington in about a month for Australia to inquire into- the Shops and Offices Act and other industrial legislation in that country, visiting Tasmania, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. He expects to be absent for two months.
Mr. H. A. Parkinson, of Wellington, who was secretary of the New ZealanjtfEducational Institute from 1911 to 1933; was elected a life member of the institute at the annual conference yesterday.
Mir. A.. M. Rosie, principal, stores division, General Post Office, has been appointed to the position of Deputy Chief Postmaster, Auckland, and leaves shortly to take up his new duties.
