SERIOUS INJURIES
CAR HITS PEDESTRIAN

CHRISTCHURCH, May 11
Serious injuries were received by a pedestrian when he was struck by a car on the main road on the Christchurch side of the Styx overhead bridge tonight. Two occupants of the car also received injuries. The injured persons were:—
John William Campbell, pedestrian, address unknown; compound fracture of the lower right and lower left legs and head injuries; condition serious.
Mervyn Wilford Ashley, aged 21, 17 Severn Street, St. Albans, driver cf the car; injury to the left eye; condition not serious.
Albert Patterson, aged 23, 550 Cashel Street, passenger in the car: concussion; condition not serious.
