MAGISTRATE'S COURT

Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., presided at today's sitting of the Magistrate's Court.

A sentence of 14 days' imprisonment with hard labour was imposed upon Eric Arthur Alden, a labourer, aged 23, who pleaded guilty to the theft of a blanket. Detective-Sergeant W. McLennan. who prosecuted, described how Alden had been staying with his wife at a hotel, had taken a blanket off the bed. put it in a trun.:. and sent it by rail to Napier.
