KELBURN BRANCH
The annual meeting of the Kelburn branch of the British and Foreign Bible Society was held recently in the Presbyterian Church Hall. The Rev. J. S. Murray presided. A number of ladies was present to meet the organising secretary of the Wellingon Province, Mrs. ,V. Wakelin, who was welcomed by the president, Mrs. Gavin Wilson.
The Rev. J. S. Murray opened the meeting with a Bible reading and commented on its aptness in connection with present-day events.
The retiring president, Mrs. Gavin Wilson, was re-elected, also the honorary secretary, Mrs. W. M. Singleton. Mesdames Edgar, Eaton Hurley, McKenzie, MacLaurin, and Shirer were elected vice-presidents.
At the close of the business proceedings, Mrs. Wakelin gave an address on the practical work of the society overseas. Thanking the collectors, who give their services so generously and who are so essential to the existence of the society, Mrs. Wakelin urged them to even greater efforts.
