WEDDING

DU CHATEAU—TANSLEY.

Ttie wedding took place at St. Paul's Cathedral Church on Friday evening of Zoe Gordon, daughter of Mr. S. Tansley. Wadestown, and Victor Henry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo dv Chateau, Laura Avenue, Brooklyn. Canon D. J. Davies performed the ceremony. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of shimmering magnolia satin. The bodice was buttoned from neck to waist and finished with a small collar, the sleeves' being fuil to the elbow and fitting tightly at the wrists. The full skirt formed a long train. A topknot of orange blossoms held in place her long veil* of magnolia tulle, and she carried a sheaf of cream roses. '

Mrs. James Mcßryde, of Wellington, sister of the bride, was matron of honour, and the bridesmaid was Miss Bobs Harker, Waipukurau, cousin of the bride. They wore frocks of magnolia chiffon with small collared bodices, buttoned at the back and finished with wide stiffened belts. The skirts were full and trained. They wore flower top-knots in their hair to match their sheaves of autumn-tinted chrysanthemums. Each wore brooches of pearls, the gifts of the bridegroom. The best man was Mr. R. Hunt, and the groomsman Mr. J. Fay. A reception was held at the National Club, Featherston Street, where guests were received at the head of the stairs by Mrs., Leo dv Chateau and Mrs. S. Tansley. The reception rooms were beautifully decorated with autumntinted chrysanthemums, to match the bouquets of the bride's attendants. Besides the bridal table, small tables were arranged round the main lounge to give a pleasant and informal atmosphere. The only toast of the evening, that of the bride and bridegroom, was proposed by Mr. George Swan. Mrs. S. Tansley, the bride's stepmother, wore a full-skirted gown of black and white striped silk, trimmed with black velvet, and a corsage spray of deep red roses Mrs. Leo dv Chateau was in a model frock of gold' with pastel shaded fringed girdle and a corsage of deep red; roses. Dancing was enjoyed by the guests /till a late hour. The bride travelled in a horn-blue Angora suit, with a hat and veil to match, and London tan accessories.
