The Minister of Education (the Hon. ■P. Fraser) left for New Plymouth this morning. He is expected to return to Wellington before the weekend.

Commissioner James Hay and Mrs. Hay, of Melbourne, who arrived at Auckland from Sydney by the Monterey on Monday, were passengers by the Limited express today. They will attend the annual conference of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, which opens in Wellington tomorrow. Theywere accompanied by Lieutenant-Com-missioner F. Adams, Territorial commander of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, and Mrs. Adams, who went to Auckland to meet them. . ■ •
