(British Official Wireless.)
RUGBY, April 19,
The Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty, Mr. Geoffrey Shakespeare, was asked in the House of Commons today if he would give particulars of reports received by the Admiralty to the effect that Japan was contemplating building warships armed with 18-inch guns, and whether, in view of this information, the British1 Government contemplated changing the plans of the new battleships which were being laid down.
Mr. Shakespeare, replying, said that the answer to both parts of the question was in the negative.
