"ELECTRIC RAY GUN"
RUSSIAN SHOOTING PRACTICE
INVENTION
(Independent Cable Service.) (Received April 20, 9 a.m.)
MOSCOW, April 19.
Soviet research workers here perfected an "electric ray gun" which is claimed to result in enormous economies in bullets and powder in the training of the Red Army. Instead of firing bullets, practice revolvers, rifles, and cannon "fire" a slender light beam at the target by means of an electric lamp concealed in the barrel which throws the beam through a lens in the muzzle when the trigger is pressed.
