ANZAC DAY
PARADE OF "DIGGERS"
MARCH ALONG QUAY
Details of the arrangements for the parade of returned soldiers on Anzac Day have now been announced and it is expected that eighteen units will be represented. The parade will form on Jervois Quay, opposite Hunter Street on this occasion and the march to the Wellington Citizens' War Memorial will be through Hunter Street and along Lambton Quay. The parade will be under the command of the president of the Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association (LieutenantColonel A. Cowles, V.D.) and Captain M. S. Galloway, M.C., will be adjutant.
The parade will form shortly before 2 p.m. and will march off at 2 p.m. The order of march will be South African War veterans, Royal Navy, "Old Contemptibles," other ex-Imperial units, A.1.F., mounted rifles, artillery, engineers, Auckland infantry, Wellington infantry, Canterbury infantry, Otago infantry, N.Z.R.8., Machine-gun Corps, Medical Corps, Army Service Corps, other units, Legion of Frontiersmen.
The parade will be accompanied by the Institute Band, the Port Nicholson Silver Band, the Tramways Band, the Police Pipe Band, the Salvation Army Band, and the City of Wellington's Own Highland Band. The Port Nicholson Band will lead the march to the Memorial and the Tramways Band will lead the return march.
The parade will form up in Lambton Quay parallel to the War Memorial, and at the conclusion of the service will march past the Cenotaph in fours and will salute by removing hats and turning "eyes right." The return march will be through Lambton Quey and Hunter Street to the starting point.
Medals and decorations will be worn by the men taking part in the parade.
