; On the second day of the Epsom Spring Meeting the following was the result of the CITY AND SUBURBAN, a handicap sweepstakes with £1500 added; second 10 per cent., third 5 per cent., and fourth 2£ per cent, of whole stakes; i \\ miles and 15 yards. ' Mrs. Lionel Corbett's b h Bistolfi, I by Singapore—Bella Minna, by Bachelor's Double, 4yrs 1 Major H. T. Barclay's br h Mormond ; Hill, by Brumeux —Polmaise, syrs 2 M. M. Boussac's b h Taran, by Tourbillon —L'Esperance, syrs .. ■ 3 Fourteen starters. Won by five length; half a length between second and third. Winner trained by O. M. D. Bell at Lambourri, Berkshire. .
As far as the records reveal Bistolfi had had only three previous starts, as a three-year-old last season, when he was thrice unplaced. According to the Racing Calendar, his dam, Bella Minna, was sold after winning her final race as a four-year-old in 1928 for 9000gs.— "Rangatira."
