POPPY DAY
R.S.A. FUND APPEAL
The annual Poppy Day appeal fall* this year on April 21 and the Returned Soldiers' Association of New Zealand look forward to a record response from the public. This-response has always been good and all the funds so collected are devoted;entirely to the welfare of the returned soldiers .through the various associations. • As the years speed by the number of men suffering the after effects of war service increases and a drain on funds becomes more apparent. Every Is spent on a poppy is Is well spent and the proceeds of this annual effort will be welcomed by the associations. Poppy Day r 1939, falls twenty-four years after the original landing at Anzac, almost a quarter of a century, and this long period of time finds many men who were young and virile in the days of 1915, now through physical handicaps of war service, less able to compete with their fellow-men in the ordinary avocations of daily life.
