HIDING IN CALIFORNIA

HOLLYWOOD, April 18,
The boxer Jack Doyle announced today that he married the Spanish actress I known as Merelys Movita last week in Lower California where he was hiding from the United States immigration authorities. He is going to England on May 2 and it is understood that he will appear in two films for British International. He said that previous reports of his marriage were false. A cablegram from Ensenada (Mexico) received in January stated that Doyle was honeymooning there 1 with Movita, a Mexican movie star, j whom he had secretly married else-! where. About eighteen months ago i I the actress Judith Allen filed a cuit for damages totalling 2,000,000 dollars ! against Mrs. Delphine Dodge Godde, | alleging alienation of' the affections of i Doyle. Last October, Doyle was arrested in Los Angeles on a charge of illegal entry of the United States, on the ground that" he supplied false information when applying for a visa. Doyle had previously fought in London where he rushed at his opponent, Eddie Phillips, hit a post, and knocked himself out. On his arrival back in New York he found that Mrs. Godde had repudiated their romance. Later he was supposed to be wooing a corn-plaster heiress and in the Mid- ! night Sun night club, he was punched by Eleanor Troy, a "strip-tease" artist. He then announced that he was flying | to Hollywood to meet an ale heiress i who was going to Reno to seek a \ divorce., After his arrest in Los An-1 geles he was released on bail and given until January 13 to leave the country.
