MASTERTON, April 18,
"He is a great golfer and is equal if not superior to any amateur we have in Australia." remarked Norman yon Nida. the Australian golf professional, who with Eric Cremin played exhibition matches at Masterton today when referring to J. Hornabrook. the leading New Zealand amateur. Nida and Cremin were opposed to K. Williams (Masterton professional) ■ and Hornabrook. The visitors won 2 up after a keen game in which the standard of play at times was particularly good
The Australians took some time to settle down and were two to the bad at 'ne turn. Then Nida struck a winning patch.
Hornabrook played the best goll of the foursome, and did the round in two under bogey. Nfida went out in 39 and home in 36, Cremin out in 39 and Lome in 38. Hornabrook out in 34 and home in 37, and Williams out in 39 and home in 41.
