THE GREAT METROPOLITAN

LONDON, April 18. On the opening day of the Epsom Spring Meeting, the following was the result of the
GREAT METROPOLITAN HANDICAP, a plate of £1100; second £100,
third £50; about 2k miles. J. A. de Rothschild's bh Lillibullero, by Bolingbroke^—Scintilla, by. Hurry On, 4yrs 1 Miss Dorothy Paget's eh h Foxchase, by Foxlaw —Nell Star, syrs .. 2 H. Lester's eh h Holne Chase, by Gainsborough—Saddle Tor, syrs 3 Thirteen starters. Won by three lengths; one and a half lengths between second and third. Winner bred by owner and trained by F. C. Pratt at Lambourne, Berkshire.
Lillibullero did not race as a two-year-old, and his form last season was poor. His dam, Scintilla, also ran in the colours of Mr. de Rothschild and failed to win in a couple of seasons on the Turf. Holne Chase was also third in the Great Metropolitan last year.— "Rangatira."
