TABLE TENNIS
The sixth annual general meeting of the Hutt Valley Table Tennis Association was held at M.U. Oddfellows' Hall, Petone, on Thursday evening, when Mr. A. Marshall presided over an attendance of thirty-four; Inclusive of twehtyftve delegates, as compared with sixtyone last year.
It was agreed that the association again apply for the use of the long room in the grandstand at the Hutt Recreation. Ground as its headquarters for the coming season. . , : ' . ~
By 14 votes to 11 it was decided that the association play its A grade matches as home and away fixtures, at the Alicetown Trinity, Empire, and association halls, and that in the event of a club not having facilities for the staging of A grade matches, the same conditions as last year operate.
A motion from the Empire Club that three inter-club matches be played per calendar month instead of at fortnightly intervals was carried.
A motion to rescind the system of scoring in inter-club matches was carried on the casting vote of the chairman, and it was decided to adopt the system of playing the best three games of 21 up and one of 31 up for B grade and lower. ;
A proposal that the Hutt Valley championships be played in August was defeated.
It was unanimously agreed to place on record the splendid service rendered to the association by the retiring secretary, Mr. M. G. Valk, who had taken office when the finances of the association were in a very delicate position.

Teagle, C. C. Odlin, C. G. Noble, . and B. T. Pegler; hon. secretary, Mr. J. Mullins; hon. treasurer, Mr. C. Leyland; assistant secretary, Mr. E. J. Hughes; hon. auditor, Mr.' J. Fordie; publicity officer, Mr. .A. R. Harding; management committee, Messrs. C. C. Aitken, F. E. Smith, E. J. Hughes, M. G. Valk, L. Cooper, L. Pyre, S. Blackie, and Mrs. J. Ingham; delegates to the New Zealand Table Tennis Association, Messrs. B. T. Pegler and J. Mullins; sole selector, Mr. S. Blackie.
