YESTERDAY'S LOCAL SALE

Wellington brokers held the usual fortnightly sale of hides and sheepskins yesterday before the usual bench of buyers. Half-wools were in good demand and appreciated up to £d, but all other sorts eased a shade.

Cow hides in all weights dropped Jd, and light ox were also £d lower. Medium ox improved id, while a sharp rise was experienced in the heavy sorts, which advanced lid. Yearling and calf were firm, but kip eased &d.
