It was notified at the Horowhehua County Council, meeting ' yesterday that Councillor I. Liggins had been disqualified from sitting as a member of the council and that his seat should be declared vacant. Mr. Liggins is an executor in the Liggins estate and as the council has bought river metal from the-estate for its roading schemes the Department .had declared that Mr. Liggins could-not hold the seat. An election for a.new councillor is therefore necessary.
