28 SUBMARINES
GERMAN NAVAL BUILDING

The Naval Year Book discloses that Gfermany is laying down 28 submarines, making a total of 99 with a tonnage equal to Britain's. The new craft will have 4.1 inch and 3.4 inch guns. The tonnage of a new battleship which is now on the stocks will be 40,000.
An extraordinary flow of lava from a volcano in the Belgian Congo has brought devastation over a hundred square miles. The stream of lava, seven miles wide, reached Lake Kivu, 20 miles away, causing great waves and columns of steam.
