P. AND T. ATHLETES
MEETING AT HATAITAI
Tomorrow afternoon, commencing at 2 o'clock", athletes drawn from the Post and Telegraph Department will compete in a full programme of running, cycling, and field events at Hataitai Park. The figure will be the first of its kind held by the Post and Telegraph employees for many years. The entries in all events are excellent, there being no less than 48 competitors in the 100 yards handicap alone. Those competing include reinstated athletes, some of whom are better known in other parts of New Zealand, in addition to runners who did well at the recent combined Public Services meeting. A feature of the programme no doubt will be the intersection relay race for men, which has attracted entries from 20 teams of four men each. Trophies are to be given ih all events and judging from the enthusiasm displayed in organising the meeting, it should be highly successful from every point of view. Mr. T. W. Leslie will be the starter. No charge is being made for admission to the ground.
