SAFE ENTERED
MOTOR FIRM'S LOSS
While the policeman usually on duty in the neighbourhood was absent keeping a look-out for looters at the scene of the previous night's fire, some person or persons on Wednesday night succeeded in opening the safe in the office of Independent Motor Sales, Ltd., Wakefield Street, and stole about £110, all „in cash, ■ and composed mainly of £5" arid £1 notes. It is thought that the theft occurred at about 12.30 a.m., for shortly after that the police noticed the door ajar. Detectives are investigating the matter.
