PROBATION GRANTED
'SEQUEL TO CITY FIRE
"The offence of looting, and that is practically what this charge means, is a serious one," said Mr. W. ,F. Stilwell, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today to Raymond Arthur Johanson, aged 18, a glazier, who appeared for sentence on a charge of stealing torches and magazines, valued at ss, from Arthur McDonald and others during the Victoria Street fire on Tuesday night.
The Magistrate said he thought the Probation Officer's report justified him in admitting Johanson to probation for eighteen months.
