MATAKI DREDGE.

Mr C. O. Mahony, chairman of directors "of Mataki Gold Dredging, Limited, Murchison, addressing shareholders in Auckland, hoped that values would improve. The dredge, he said, was now working in a bad patch which was shallow with a pug bottom, and this would last for a few weeks. Floods and poor ground made things difficult for the company, but every endeavour was being made to Expedite the passage of the dredge to better ground ahead. Delay in the delivery of a new ladder and Diesel engihe had also retarded progress. The managing director was on the ground and was doing everything possible to improve the position. The report and balancesheet were adopted, and the retiring directors, Sir Walter Stringer and Mr. R. H. Montgomery, were re-elected.
