LEYLAND-O'BRIEN TIMBER CAPITAL

A proposal to reduce the capital of the Leyland-O'Brien Timber Company, Limited by £30,000 by returning 5s a share to shareholders, thus reducing the nominal amount of each share from £1 to 15s, will be considered at an extraordinary meeting on April 19. The present authorised and paid capital ol the company is £120,000 in shares of £" each, which it is proposed to reduce to £90,000 in 120,000 shares of 15s each It will also be necessary to amend the articles of the company .-to give it power by special resolution to reduce the capital. Registered in Auckland in 1897 with an original capital of £35,000, the company is one of the oldest existing timber merchants in the province. The capital was increased to the present figure by bonus issues of £35,000 in 1908, £10,000 in 1923 and £40,000 in 1925, reserves being capitalised in each case.
