TO BE HANDED OVER
CZECH CONSULATE
CHRISTCHURCH OFFICE
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
Mr. P. D. Shea, consular representative for Czecho-Slovakia at Christchurch, has received a cable message from the Czecho-Slovakian ConsulGeneral at Sydney as follows:—"Hand over immediately the archives and official inventory to the German Consul-General, Wellington. Your consular office ceases to exist from March 27. Thanking you for your long cooperation. Kveton."
The German Consul-General, Dr. Ramm, will probably be in Christchurch next week. Although all archives and records will be handed over to the German Consul-General, Mr. Shea says a large bundle of correspondence he has from people in Czecho-Slovakia seeking information and assistance for entering the Dominion will not be passed over. The applicants include scientists, agriculturists, and specialists, all prepared to take on any task until they could stand on their own feet. He was certain that many of them would be extremely valuable to this country.
