WANCANUI WEDDING
(From "The Post's" Representative.) WANGANUI, March 28.
I Many guests from all parts of the North Island were in Wanganui on to attend the marriage of Peggy, only . daughter of Mr. Lewis Strachan, and the late Mrs. Strachan, and Bayly, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Haworth, all of Wanganui. The ceremony was held at the Collegiate School Chapel. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a trained gown of soft silver lame, made with drjped bodice and long sleeves and long tasselled girdle. The tulle veil •vas held with orange blussom, and she > carried a bouquet of cream water lilies. Her three attendants were Misses Zona Haworth (Hastings), sister of the bridegroom; Mafjorie Todd (Makirikiri); and Trevor Hunter (Wanganui). All were gowned in silver thread crepe, in blue, pink, and green respectively, with small veils, and sashes lined with silver lame, and they carried pink water lilies.
The Rev.-W. H. Austin officiated and Messrs. Peter Saunders, D. Morpeth. and Freri2rick Oldham (Wellington) supported the bridegroom After the ceremony nearly 200 guests were entertained at Foster's Hotel, where Mr. Strachan. assisted by Mrs. M. Grimmund. received his guests. After th<? wedding breakfast, the remainder of the evening was spent in dancing.
