ANNUAL MEETINGS
The annual general meeting of the New Zealand Forces; vice-patrons, the Mayors of Wellington, Petone igd Lower Hutt; president, Mr. E. Wright, J. D. Edmonds, B. B. Jones, A V G. Wilson, A. E. Ffrost A. and CorfgVeve; secretary, Mr. Wilton (temporary); treasurer, Mr. V. Wilson;. publicity officer, Mr. H. Nickless;. auditors, Messrs. W. Mcßain and D. A. McKenzie; referee, Mr. J. Pitt The chairman spoke of the loss of Mr. Wrigley, one of the early workers in connection with miniature rifle shooting and for many years secretary j of the association. Mr. J. Pitt also spoke of Mr. Wrigley's work and . the j meeting stood in silence as a mark of respect and sympathy for the relatives. A motion of sympathy was also passed to the relatives of the late Mr. Hare. A committee set up to report on the state of the range, and particularly the j lighting system, presented its findings and it was decided that all necessary! repairs and alterations be proceeded with at once. HUTT VALLEY LADIES'CLUB. The Hutt Valley Ladies' Club held its annual general meeting on February 22. The financial statement showed the club to be in a very sound position. It was decided to close the membership for the 1939 season. The following officers were elected: — Patron, the. Hon. W. Nash; president, Mrs. May; deputy-president, Mrs. Davies; vice-presidents, Mesdames Saunders and Barrett, Messrs. Scholefield, London, Oakley, Parsonage, Swan, Williams, Witcombe, Scambary, Tisdale, Greenfield, Leibezeit, McKercher, L. Stewart, Dawson, Marshall, Macfarlane, Lees, Gadsby, Hobbs, Ffrost, K. Kain, Goldfinch, and Godfrey; club captain, Mrs. Nicholas; vicecaptain, Mrs. M. Do well; secretary, Mrs. Ffrost; treasurer, Miss Wale; delegate, Mrs. Davies; committee, Mesdames McKercher, House, and Greenfield. . Practice shooting has commenced and the official opening of the season will take place on March 22.
