ATHLETIC SPORTS
The annual athletic sports of the Wellington Girls' College, postponed from Friday on account of the rain, were held yesterday in perfect weather at Kelburn Park. In the afternoon many parents and friends gathered to watch the finals and the more amusing races. The large number of entries made many heats necessary, but these for the most part were run off in the morning. In the official party were Mrs. Knox Gilmer (member of the Board of Governors), Miss Greig (ex-principal), Miss Batham (ex-principal Wellington East), Mr, and Mrs. Theo Hills (president, Parents' Association), Mrs. W. O. TJrquhart (president,. Old Girls' Association),. Mrs, I. McKay and Mrs, Oilier (Parents' Association). The results of the various events were as follows;— Senior Champion.—Margaret John, 17 points; runner-up, Marjory Kinross, 12% points.
