London on New York on August 2, 1938, was quoted at 4.90| dollars to £1 sterling, but during the European crisis on • September 28 the rate was 4.63, and during October varied between 4.78| and 4.75 3-8. During January, 1939, the range has been from 4.62& (January 4) to 4.68 1-8 (January 31), and during February from 4.68 (February 8) to 4.69J (February 25).
