DRAB DISPLAY

WELLINGTON TEAM

NELSON CRICKET MATCH

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

NELSON, March 10

Scoring 154 runs in two and threequarter hours, Wellington gave only a fair display in the first innings of their match against Nelson. When an appeal against the light was upheld at :5.50 p.m., Nelson had scored'l4s runs for six wickets, and appeared to be assured of a first innings lead. Kemp's innings was the redeeming feature of his side's otherwise drab display. He made 74 runs in two and a quarter hours. For some reason the* side's batting order was changed, and it was a surprise to find Hepburn, for instance, going in ninth wicket. Farsloe bowled well, taking four for 33.
