The serving of smoked sturgeon as an alternative to the more familiar smoked salmon as a prelude to luncheon is gaining in favour, states a London writer. Novelty has always its charm. Grosvenor House has been dealing with an 841b fish landed by a Grimsby trawler and said to be one of the largest ever caught in English waters^ Smoked sturgeon, for the information of those who have not made firsthand acquaintance with it, is of 'delicate flavour, whitish colour, and chicken-like texture.
