TAXATION PAYMENTS
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
HASTINGS, This Day.
The question of the payment of taxation under the Social Security Act was before the Hastings branch of the Farmer^' Union when the following resolution, to be presented as. a remit at the forthcoming executive meeting at Waipukurau, was passed: "Owing to the benefits under Social Security being suspended in accordance with the pronouncement recently made by the Minister, is. it the intention of the Government to suspend the taxation necessary to meet the benefits?" Mr. R. Talbot stated that although the benefits of social service had been postponed indefinitely, there had been no promise of a postponement of taxation.
