APPLICATIONS are invited for appointment to the Position of Director of the Commonwealth Solar Observatory at Mount Stromlo, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. The appointment will be made under and. the appointee will be subject to the provisions of the Commonwealth Public Service Act and Regulations. Salary range, £1250- £1400, subject to cost of living variations in pursuance of Commonwealth Public Service Regulation 106 a. Annual increments, £50. Applicants should supply full particulars of their academic record, of their research achievement, particularly m branches of physics or astronomy included in the activities of a Solar Physics Observatory and of their experience in administration ancl in the supervison of scentifio work, both research ancl routine. Travelling allowance will be payable whilst on board steamer at the rate of 20s per diem if accompanied by wife, otherwise at the rate of 10s per diem.
