The new anti-aircraft gun director) was tested out fully for the first time at the manoeuvres at Fort Worth at the end of last year. It is understood to be a very advanced piece of equipment, much better than anything else . in use today. Later it is hoped (some reports say expected) to link it with guns so that shooting will be automatic at aeroplanes which are not seen. The handing over of the director to Britain is believed to have arisen from a deal made between the British authorities and the United States under which the U.S. Army was allowed use of the Vickers indicator. This indicator was at that time ahead of anything possessed by the Americans.
