FIRST MEETING
INDUSTRIAL COUNCIL
Following the decision reached at the conference called recently by the Minister of Labour (the Hon. P. C, Webb) a meeting was held yesterday of representatives of the Wellington Employers' Association, the Wellington Manufacturers' Association, and the Wellington Trades and Labour Council to discuss the formation of an Industrial Council. Mr. P. H. Kinsman, of the Labour t)e-. partment, was elected chairman in the meantime. It was decided that a constitution be; drawn up by the New Zealand Em-, ployers' Federation, the New Zealand' Manufacturers' Federation, and the New Zealand Federation of Labour, the national bodies representing employers and employees, which would confer the necessary powers on provincial councils and enable the proposal to take proper shape. The meeting was adjourned for this purpose. Mr. Kinsman to arrange the date of the next meeting.
