WELLINGTON TEAM

NATIONAL MEETING

Tne selector (Mr. P. N. Robinson) announced the following team to represent Wellington at the New Zealand track cycling championships, to be held on the asphalt track at the Caledonian Ground, Dunedin; on February 17 and 18:—

R. Ulmer, T. Roe, and J. Wilson (500 metres sprint, 1000 m,etres time trial, and 10 miles human paced).

A. Pennington (500 metres sprint and 1000 metres time trial).

Ulmer, Roe, Wilson, and Pennington will comprise the team for the teams race. *

J., P. Burn (Nelson), S. H. Webber, and J. Croskery (junior half-mile and five miles). •

Mr. Robinson is to accompany^ the team as manager. The" team is to leave Wellington on February 14, and is to leave Dunedin' oh the return trip on February 20, arriving back in Wellington the following day. The track on which the championships are to be decided has recently been resurfaced.

It was also announced today that as there is , provision on, the programme for cycle events at the triangular athletic meeting to be held by the Petone Club on the Petone Oval on February 11, no Wellington rider will be permitted to ride outside his centre on that day. This decision has been made because of a meeting, to be. held at Wanganui on the. same day. The cycle events at the Petone meeting are halfmile, one mile, and three miles senior, and brie mile junior. :
