AXE WOUND ON HEAD
: The police at Thames were notified ' yesterday morning that Mr. G. W. Fulton, of Paeroa, aged 57, who was to have begun work with the Public Works Department at Puriri yesterday, was found outside his camp at Puriri with a severe gash in his.forehead. He was taken to the Thames Hospital and his condition is serious.
The police state that they do not think Mr. Fulton was the victim of foul play. He was found lying near the axe with which the wound is supposed to have been accidentally inflicted, and the circumstances did not point to him having been attacked.
