A Wellington cricket eleven, comprising association and Mercantile League players, with Mr. H. Osborne as manager, toured the Nelson district during the Christmas and New Year holidays. All the matches provided interesting cricket, and a decided improvement was noticed in the ability of opposing teams.

securing their first win of the season by 12 runs.

At Nairnville Park University, following on, 111 runs in arrears, ran up 200 in their second innings against Onslow, Parkin, contributing a vigorous 69. Left with 90 to get for an outright win, stumps were drawn with Onslow four runs short of their objective. For this they have probably only themselves to blame, as they were ten minutes late in making a start. The University captain claimed the right to have this time made up but naturally did not exercise it.
